Too many people talk themselves into a corner when it comes to investing. They often say: ‘’I can’t invest now because I don’t have enough money to make it worthwhile’’ then, once they have earned money, they rationalize; ‘’well, if I am such a good money maker, why should I bother learning new skills?’’ I can always make money when I need it.
But what they do not realize is that one day, they may be too old to work.
It is natural to feel a little nervous before any new venture. That anxiety level is raised considerably when it comes to financial matters for most people. But developing the self-discipline to accomplish your goals has it’s own built-in rewards
Frankly, most people do not have a detailed plan of investing. They just throw in whatever they have left after spending their paycheck.
Some people find it easier to invest by paying something into savings when money comes into their hands until the account reaches a certain level, at which point they move it to their investment
Saving Rather Than Spending
Here is a simple question, would you rather spend most of your life working for money or have money working for you?
Most of us prefer the later, but we do the former simply because we do not save enough. Heck! Some do not save at all and they want to wake up the next day and find money in their accounts. What a contradiction!
It is pertinent to note, every Naira you save and invest earns more Naira for you while every Naira you spend doesn’t. Every Naira you save and invest shortens the time between today and the day you reach the winner’s circle while every Naira you spend doesn’t and you live the rest of your life in poverty or having barely enough.
However, every kobo that comes into your hands should be put to work as every enduring, financial fortune is built on a foundation of saving.
I am always amazed when people complain about not having money to invest, yet they spend a minimum of N2,000 for instance, every day on mundane things (i.e. N60,000 per month or approximately N730,000 in a year) as they complain about the economy, the government, and the people around them for their woes.
There is no short cut to riches. You must take your future in your own hands because nobody will do it for you. Show me a self-made millionaire and I will show you a dedicated saver/investor.
Lack of money is not the problem why most Nigerians are not wealthy. Lack of saving is. In a world where saving can make you rich, most of us are held captive by our spending habits. What a shame!
It is against this backdrop that you need a financial advisor with specialist advice on how to manage your money, help researched the marketplace aa well as recommend the most appropriate products and services available.
In addition, help you reach your goals sooner, by providing you with strategies and ways to create more wealth, reduce costs, and eliminate debts.
Happy Interest Posting Day!
