Effective June 1, 2021, customers of VFD Microfinance Bank – operators of V bank, will be required to pay SMS charges.
The charge, N4.00 per SMS, will apply to all transaction notifications sent to the account holder’s phone number. To avoid being charged, customers can opt-out of this service and receive transaction alerts via push notification and email – both of which are free. In addition, transacting on the banking app will continue to be free.
Customers who wish to opt-out of SMS can follow these steps below:
- Login to your V Bank App
- Select the profile icon (circle on the top right side of the screen)
- Select ‘Account Preference management’
- Click ‘Transaction Notification Preference’
- Deselect SMS, select Email and Push and click on Save.
